USS Waterproofing Services
Foundation Crack Sealing
It’s important to call USS if you see a crack on the interior or exterior of your foundation. Cracks are a common reason for water seepage into your home. Cold joints, rock pockets, or around pipe penetrations can also leak water. One of our expert technicians can determine the source of water seepage, fix the issue and use a variety of waterproofing techniques to permanently seal your home from water seepage through foundation cracks.
Interior Drain Tile System Installation
If you have a problem with water entering your basement through cracks in the basement floor or water entering the basement at the cove joint (where the floor slab and foundation wall meet) the repair needed is the installation of a new subfloor drain tile system, sump pit and new sump pump. This system will help collect water from your basement or crawlspace and divert it away from your home. Call USS to learn more about your options and how we would install the interior drain tile system.
Exterior Drainage System Installation
Sometimes, interior home basement waterproofing services aren’t an option. This could happen if you have a finished basement. USS can install drain tiles and an exterior foundation membrane from outside of the basement. In this case, we’ll use a backhoe to excavate a trench around the bottom of your foundation footing. Drain tile will be installed from the exterior, and we will apply a waterproofing membrane. These projects also include connecting the exterior drain tile system to a new or existing sump pit and sump pump if an exterior discharge is not possible. Call USS if you have any questions about this repair.
Crawlspace Encapsulation
A dirt or gravel crawlspace is typically damp and saturated with moisture. Warm air rises and with that, the moisture in the crawlspace rises and enters your home or commercial building. By installing a sealed vapor barrier, USS provides the crawlspace with a moisture protection layer to protect the building from the damaging effects of moisture such as mold, odors, insects, increased energy costs and damage to wooden floor joists. Encapsulating your crawlspace will improve the air quality and is fantastic for home resale value. Call USS to find out how you can schedule a crawlspace encapsulation.
Underground Sump Discharge & Gutter Downspout Burial
Do your gutters or sump pump discharge right outside of your foundation? This could be causing a problem that will slowly lead to costly repairs. When water discharges next to the house, it increases the amount of water going into the drain tile system. The result is more debris and silt that can clog the drainage system or result in backing it up. This could eventually result in your basement flooding, and you wouldn’t know why. Call USS today if you need help positioning your sump discharge or gutter downspouts to prevent this from happening.
Window Well Installation and Window Well Drain Installation
Are your window wells rusty, bent, detached from the home or just plain ugly? USS can excavate and install new galvanized steel or molded plastic window wells to replace the existing damaged or non-functioning window wells. Our technicians can install full egress, escape window wells and half window wells. Installation of new window well drains is also an option if the window wells are in good condition. The equipment is ordered to custom fit your home, and installation takes one day. Call USS if you would like us to inspect your existing window wells and provide you with an estimate.
Sump Pit and Pump Installation
USS can install a new sump pump and discharge line in your home. Existing sump pits can become damaged, broken if constructed of clay, cracked if made of concrete, or set up too shallow or small to be effective. It’s recommended that sump pumps be replaced every 4-5 years. Besides installing new pumps (1/3, 1/2, or 3/4 horsepower units) we can also adjust your sump pit location and discharge. A new quiet check valve and PVC above grade discharge are included in the installation. Call USS today to learn more about our sump pump services.
Battery Backup System Installation
Homeowners with a finished basement or who store valuable objects in that space need battery backup systems. USS installs the best systems in the flood control market. The system is designed to automatically turn on and convert to 120V battery power when electricity is lost. It also does this if the power is on, but the primary pump fails during a heavy water flow. An AGM non-maintenance required battery is included in the installation. Call USS to find out how battery backup systems are crucial for homeowners.
